As if the finale of Dancing with the stars didn’t prove my point enough, that it’s a freaking popularity contest, one of the professional dancers is threatening to quit the show based on biased fan votes.
I don’t care about the show, I think it’s kinda ridiculous that these ‘celebrities’ (where’s Bai Ling?) go on a show and pretend to care if they win a dancing show. The only reason they want to win is so they stay on the whole season to gain exposure. And one of my reasons I hate the show, is that some of these celebs already have established fan bases and have unfair advantages.
So as I said, I could care less about the show. However, Mel should have won, everyone knows it, and I’m glad that someone within the show is stepping up to make a stand. Maybe if we’re lucky all these controversies will make this show collapse. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like that’s about to happen since the finale got 24.5 million people watching.
I think my Gramma summed it up best about the ridiculousness of the show when commenting on Marie Osmond’s obsurd doll routine, in reference to Marie being Mormon, my Gramma says ‘Does the church allow that?”

One of the best cartoons of the 90’s and 00’s will be making it’s long awaited comeback. Futurama has released a ‘movie’ that is really just 4 individual episodes put into 1 set. The show is set to release 3 additional 4 episode sets, and will also have these episodes airing on Comedy Central next season. ‘Bender’s Big Score’ is the first set that has been released on November 27th, with the rest without a scheduled release date yet.
I don’t really get why they would put these out and package it as a movie, yet have 4 seperate episodes making up that ‘movie’, and I also don’t understand why if they already plan on releasing more ‘movies’, why they couldn’t put them on one set when they’ve all been shown on tv. Oh that’s right, money. If they charge 20 bucks (like they are for this first release) for each one, that’s almost quadruple what they could get if they released these as a season, and in one package.
I like this show a lot, however I do not like the marketing for their comeback. Don’t call these movies, call them episodes and release them as a set and don’t rape the customers with such high prices.

Who doesn’t remember American Gladiators? Well guess what? Now even the new generation of youth will be polluted by this wonderfully bad show. NBC is bringing back the show in a revamped format with hosts Laila Ali and Hulk Hogan. If that alone isn’t bad enough to get you to watch I don’t know what is.
I fondly remember watching this show and eating rice crispy treats as I was glued to the set seeing if Blaze or Gold could bring down their opponents on the wall or knock them off in jousting. How into this show was I? I owned the nintendo game, which was horribly bad, but oh so good. I threw my controller on more than one occassion while always losing in the final round since I could never do the rope game or the powerball. That’s not all. I also owned the entire trading card set of American Gladiators. You read that right. I own, and still have, American Gladiator trading cards. In fact, I came across them in my garage a while back, wondering what ever happened to Zap and Siren (the deaf one).
